What are tracked prompts and how do I add more?
Tracked prompts are the buyer questions Citably runs against AI engines on every scan. You can add your own from the Audience Prompts tab so the questions you care about are tracked alongside the generated set.
Your prompt set starts with the 10 questions generated from your site, 5 commercial-intent and 5 comparison. Because the same prompts run on every scan, your results are comparable over time: the trend line means something. That consistency is the whole point of “tracked”.
Open the Audience Prompts tab in your dashboard.
Review the generated set first; the best custom prompts fill gaps rather than duplicate what is already tracked.
Click Add prompt and phrase the question the way a buyer would ask it, not the way you would search it. “Best custody provider for institutional digital assets” beats “digital asset custody features”.
Save. The prompt joins your tracked set and runs from the next scan onward.
Good candidates for custom prompts: questions naming your niche more precisely than the generated ones, questions your sales team hears on calls, and comparison questions naming a competitor you watch. Every tracked prompt gets the full treatment on each scan, cited status, recorded receipt, and Won, Lost, Held, and New transitions between scans.
Keep the set honest. A prompt nobody would actually ask produces a citation nobody will ever see. Ten sharp prompts beat thirty vague ones.
Prompts can be retired as well as added, so prune the ones that stop matching your positioning. A clean tracked set keeps every downstream metric honest, from Share of Model to the Citation Health Index.
