Does Citably work with Shopify?

Last updated: July 4, 2026Integrations
Quick answer

Yes, with a copy and download workflow today: Citably generates your AEO articles, tool embeds, and llms.txt, and you paste them into Shopify yourself. Direct publishing to Shopify is coming soon.

Everything except the final publishing click works exactly as it does everywhere else. Citably scans your store’s AI visibility, generates content against the prompts you are missing, and hands you the finished asset. What Shopify does not get yet is the one-click publish that WordPress users have; that direct integration is on the way.

The workflow today: deploy the asset in Citably, choose Copy or Download, then paste into Shopify. Articles go into a blog post or page through the Shopify admin editor. Interactive tools are a single embed snippet pasted into a Custom Liquid or HTML section. Formatting survives the trip because the content ships as clean HTML.

One Shopify-specific note: files at the domain root, like llms.txt, are constrained by Shopify’s hosting model. Depending on your setup, a redirect or your theme’s assets can carry it; support can walk you through the current best route for your store.

Nothing about measurement is affected: scans, receipts, competitor tracking, and citation states work identically for Shopify stores, since they read the engines, not your CMS. See Can I use Citably without a CMS connection for the full picture of the manual workflow.

When direct publishing ships, existing content is unaffected: pages you pasted stay exactly where they are, and the integration simply removes the paste step going forward.
