Does Citably track Bing Copilot and Google AI Overviews?
Not directly today. Citably tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude; ChatGPT pulls from Bing’s index, so optimizing for it also improves Copilot visibility, and Google AI Overviews tracking is on the roadmap.
The honest answer first: neither surface is in the tracked set right now, and any tool that implies complete coverage of every AI surface is overselling. Here is what is true, and what you can do about each.
Bing Copilot shares its retrieval foundation with ChatGPT: both pull from Bing’s index. In practice that means the work you do to win ChatGPT answers, deployed content, fast Bing indexing through IndexNow, clean site signals, is the same work that improves Copilot answers. You cannot read a Copilot receipt in Citably today, but your ChatGPT tracking is a strong proxy for the shared index underneath.
Google AI Overviews are the generated summaries inside Google Search, distinct from Gemini, which Citably does track. The two draw on related systems but different result surfaces, so Gemini results are informative context rather than a substitute measurement. AI Overviews tracking is on the roadmap; until it ships, that is the plain status.
The practical takeaway: the four tracked engines cover the answer surfaces where measurement is reliable today, and the optimization work they drive, citable content, indexed fast, on strong sources, is exactly the work that Copilot and AI Overviews reward too.
When AI Overviews tracking ships, it will appear in the dashboard as a tracked engine like the others, with the same receipts behind every result.
