My Google connection expired
Google connections expire when the authorization is revoked, a password changes, or the link goes long unused. Reconnect under Settings, then Integrations: click Reconnect on Google and authorize again; your history is preserved.
Expired Google connections are routine, not a fault. Google invalidates authorizations for several ordinary reasons: the account password changed, the account or a workspace admin revoked third-party access, security settings tightened, or the authorization simply aged out unused. Any of these flips the connection to expired.
While expired, two things pause: instant indexing stops submitting deployed assets to Google (Bing submissions through IndexNow continue, since they do not use the Google authorization), and GA4 performance data stops updating. Nothing breaks and nothing is lost; both simply wait for the reconnection.
Open Settings, then Integrations.
Click Reconnect on the Google card.
Authorize with the same Google account as before, and re-select your Search Console and GA4 properties if asked.
The card returns to Connected. Indexing submissions resume from the next publish, and GA4 data resumes collecting.
History survives untouched: past performance data, indexing records, and settings are all preserved, and there is a gap only for the expired window itself. If reconnection fails repeatedly, check whether a workspace administrator restricts third-party app access on your Google account; that policy overrides anything set in Citably. The original setup steps live in the connection guide.
A habit that prevents most surprises: glance at the Integrations screen after any password change on your Google account, since that is when expiries most often happen quietly.
