What happens to my tokens when I cancel?

Last updated: July 4, 2026Billing and Tokens
Quick answer

Your remaining tokens freeze when you cancel: they are not deleted, but they cannot be spent without an active plan. Reactivate any time and your frozen balance unfreezes with it.

Cancellation follows the standard subscription pattern: your plan stays fully active until the end of the period you already paid for, and the cancellation takes effect at the renewal date. Until then, nothing changes; scans run, tokens spend, everything works.

At the end of the period, whatever tokens remain, from your plan bucket and your top-up bucket alike, freeze. Frozen means preserved but unspendable: the balance sits in your account untouched, and no action can draw from it while there is no active plan. Purchased top-up tokens are never confiscated; they simply wait.

Reactivating any plan unfreezes the balance alongside the new plan’s allowance. Your scan history, tracked prompts, and receipts also survive cancellation, so a brand that returns after six months picks up its old baseline rather than starting blind. The one thing that keeps moving without you is the market: AI answers shift while you are away, so expect the first scan back to show movement.

Cancelling is different from deleting your account, which permanently removes history and balance alike. If you might come back, cancel; delete only when you want nothing retained. Content already deployed to your site is yours either way.

There is no time limit on a frozen balance: it waits as long as it needs to, whether you return in a month or a year.
