How do I connect Google Search Console and GA4?
Open Settings, choose Integrations, and click Connect on Google. One authorization covers both Search Console and GA4; pick the property for each and save.
Open Settings, then Integrations.
Click Connect on the Google card and sign in with the Google account that owns your Search Console and GA4 properties.
Approve the requested access. Citably asks for Search Console submission rights and read-only GA4 reporting.
Choose your Search Console property; this authorizes indexing submissions for your domain.
Choose your GA4 property; this feeds performance reporting for deployed content.
Save. Both cards show Connected, and the integrations start working immediately.
What each side unlocks: Search Console powers instant indexing and manual re-indexing on Scale plans, and GA4 powers deployed-content performance tracking on all paid plans. You can connect just one if that is all you need, but since a single authorization covers both, most people do them together.
Use the Google account that actually owns the properties; a personal account without access to the company property is the most common setup mistake. If the connection later shows as expired, reconnecting takes a minute and your history is preserved.
If your Search Console and GA4 properties live under different Google accounts, connect the account that owns Search Console first, since indexing is the time-critical side, and consolidate GA4 under the same account when convenient. One owning account is the tidiest long-term setup.
